Artists currently available for commissions through Howling Riot:

You can request a specific artist, or let us select the most suitable artist for the job. Each artist has his or her own expertises, which you can check on their DA gallery.

What we do:
- Original characters: from examples or detailed description.
- Fan art: within the limits of good taste.
- Cosplay drawing: from cosplay photo. manga style.
- Custom art & illustrations: if for publishing/for-profit/commercial use, email us for a custom price; our standard prices do not apply in these cases.

What we don't do:
- Detailed backgrounds, as we rarely have that kind of time.
- Hentai, shounen ai or gore. Tasteful nudity is allowed.
- We reserve the right to refuse any commission request.

Standard prices (per character/animal/vehicle):
Payment in €(preferred) or US$
PayPal(preferred), or bank transfer (to Netherlands).

Cosplay drawing:
sketch from photographic reference = €5 / $7
If you want the original instead of a digital copy = €10 / $15

Pencil sketch:
simple art = €10 / $15
complex art = €15 / $20
high detail = +€5 / +$7

Pencil sketch with shading:
simple art = €15 / $20
complex art = €25 / $35
high detail = +€10 / +$15

Inked line art:
simple art = €15 / $20
complex art = €25 / $35
high detail = +€10 / +$15

Inked & flat CG colour:
simple art = €30 / $45
complex art = €40 / $60
high detail = +€15 / +$20

Inked & shaded CG colour:
simple art = €40 / $60
complex art = €50 / $75
high detail = +€15 / +$20

Character designing or monster designing (e.g. mascots):
€50 to €300 / $75 to $450, custom price according to purpose and work.
Colouring with markers:
additional fee for materials used, only specific artists.

"simple" = A normal pose with a regular camera angle at eye's height. Bust portraits usually fall in this category as well.
"complex" = A dynamic full-body pose or fighting stance with foreshortening, or a more difficult camera angle.
"high detail" = An additional fee for characters with a more than average amount of clothing folds, lots of accessories, detailed armour, mecha, fur hatching, or realistic art.
Don't worry if you're not sure under which category your commission goes; we'll let you know when you make your request and then you can choose whether or not to go through with it.

What you get:
We send you the art as a high-resolution digital version through email, fit for printing. If you wish to obtain the original or a print instead, that can be negotiated, but requires an additional fee in any case.
Work starts once payment has been received.
Unless otherwise agreed by contract, all intellectual rights to the artwork remain with its creator. The art is intended for your private use only; As by international copyright laws, you are not allowed to reproduce, edit, distribute or display the art in public (including internet) without getting permission from the creator. Display in your personal Deviantart gallery, website or profile is alright if you credit the artist. Use in Deviantart's print program is not, however, as that is a for-profit use.

What we'll need:
You describe what you'd like to be drawn, and make the necessary payment when we have an agreement. The information we'll need is:
- If you wish a specific artist or style.
- Character name, origin, and general type of personality.
- Character gender / type / species.
- Character body type.
- Clothing description.
- Hair type and shape.
- Accessories and other extra features.
- Facial expression / emotion of character(s), if specific wishes.
- Desired pose or action, and camera view if applicable. If you want to leave it all up to the artist, just say whether you want it simple or dynamic / complex. Note that this influences the price.
- Reference images if available: pictures, sketches, or existing art for reference. For fan art, preferably 4 varied images on which the character's design is well visible. Don't make us scour the internet for hours to find necessary reference material ourselves. For original characters, one picture can suffice as well.
- Use and purpose: If the art is not solely intended for your personal viewing or display on Deviantart, tell us what you intend to use the art for.
- Time frame: If you want it finished before a certain date, like a birthday, tell us so we can check our schedules.
